Janet Gray Awarded Freedom of the City @ 27th Apr 2009

Meteor WaterSki Club are proud to congratulate Janet Gray on being awarded Lisburn City Council's highest accolade, The Freedom of the City on 21st April 2009.

Janet was awarded this honour in acknowledgement of her lifetime achievements, which include excelling in the field of Disabled Water Skiing, continuous charity work and being a true Ambassador for Sport for all young athletes locally, nationally and globally.

The ceremony was held in the Council Chamber, during which Lisburn City Councilís Mayor, Councillor Ronnie Crawford praised Janet on her achievements, before presenting her with a scroll and specially commissioned silver casket to mark the occasion. The Mayor on behalf of the City also presented Janet with a commissioned sculpture, by John Sherlock, depicting Janet skiing over the water creating a huge wave backdrop.
